“All dreams spin out from the same web (Hopi proverb).” We wanted to celebrate and commemorate the 2nd anniversary of MATARIKI. So, we decided to go to SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium in Auckland. We brought my 87 year-old Mamang Luz who is vacationing here. Although it was my 3rd time to visit, I was still blown away by what I saw and heard. There have been some great changes since my last visit. The photo in this post is a replica of the interior of Scott’s Base in Antarctica. There were several other things that simulated life in Antarctica. Two things which I wasn’t able to experience since there were heaps of people line-up: immersing my hand inside a tube to get a feel of the water temperature, as well as the VR section. I will definitely do these two and more when I come back for a visit.

As always the sea creatures were adorable, as well as frightening too! I can spend the whole day here and still it won’t be enough to experience and absorb everything. What I plan to do next time is to divide the aquarium into sections so that I will be able to get everything.
There’s so much to see and do. I love the cafe area that has a good view of Auckland harbour. I could see that during high tide one can see through the glass case at the seabed.
